  2. My favorite quote – or rather, the one that jumped out at me is “Your children will become who you are, so be who you want them to be”. My husband had a bit of a meltdown about losing the remote in the living room. It’s his pet peeve. I know this. But, this morning, over coffee, and after he had some time to decompress, I explained that the “episode” only teaches our children that the best way to deal with something is by responding to it with a meltdown. While it may not manifest tomorrow – think about the relationship and responses they will have as adults, and as parents. The a-ha moment on his face? PRICELESS!

My 23 year old son’s pretty well-balanced for an only child…we’re surrounded by so many family members, friends, and church community…I say you can never have too many people who love you!! Amen!

      1. Interesting…My son & I have similar interests…so it’s a breeze…though he & my husband have things they enjoy together, too…plus we were married 14 years and I was 41 when I had my son, so he was a beautiful long-awaited addition…and I got to take 2 years off from teaching! Yipee!!

      2. Probably because your expectations of what you could get done with kids, as opposed to without kids, were more realistic by the third one!! Ha!

I always said while teaching, my expectations for myself lowered each year I taught…Ha! No the food pantry did NOT have to have every spice jar lined up perfectly anymore!! Know your limits, I say!!

My best advice for new mothers…Realize you’re doing a great job, if all you get done is…taking care of the kids…everything else is icing on the cake!!!
