“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind.” ― Bernard M. Baruch
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Emerson’s sentiment has echoed throughout the generations as countless parents, teachers, mentors and sage spiritual directors extol the secret to happiness, success and in the end holiness. Indeed Thomas Merton, a Trappist monk, once suggested that a tree and a frog are holy simply because they are who they are called to be by God, without masks or artifice. Similarly, a child is holy because he is simply true to himself, without artifice or masks.
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ― Oscar Wilde

― Henry David Thoreau
“You are you. Now, isn’t that pleasant?” ― Dr. Seuss
