Almost Wordless Wednesday: Women Sewing

family friendly photos – with or without words

I just discovered on Pinterest, the most fascinating paintings of women sewing, throughout the centuries. Young or old, rich or poor, women have always knitted, crocheted, sewed, weaved cloth or spun wool. It is a connection between most women, passed down mother to daughter until recently.  Yet still young women are taking an interest again, rediscovering the joy of creating something out of nothing. I crochet for that very reason. These images evoke a sense of peace and serenity.
