“Worrying is carrying tomorrow’s load with today’s strength- carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn’t empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.”
― Corrie ten Boom
Anxiety makes us ill in body, mind, and spirit. Yet worry is ingrained in our nature from the moment we are born, part of original sin. Babies are not simply empty slates; they are complex little people who just happen to be preverbal. Babies are born with more than simply inherited physical characteristics but personalities and even inherited blessings and curses passed down through the generations,
Yes, my children came from the heart of God with a purity and innocence radiating around them. On the other hand they are human beings with faults, weaknesses and even sin as part of who they are. Babies can worry and are often. fearful just like adults.

.The fact remains, though, I must let go of worry and control, even though it goes against every fiber of my being. I love to control so God often must shatter my safe little world because this is the only way I would step out of my comfort zone.
“How would your life be different if…You stopped worrying about things you can’t control and started focusing on the things you can? Let today be the day…You free yourself from fruitless worry, seize the day and take effective action on things you can change.”

Life, the Truth, and Being Free
.
Many times devastating circumstances have ended one way of life for our family with something new always rising out of the ashes
.
I had to learn to relax and patiently let the process unfold naturally since melodrama really did not help.
.
I always say I finally can laugh in the face of tragedy. Laughter puts every thing into perspective. Although stuck in wretched circumstances, I still can change how I feel and how I think. Christian Cognitive Therapy is a powerful tool. I can often change my thoughts and focus on all the blessing is my life, instead of everything going wrong. Amazingly my emotions change as well. For example, no matter what the circumstances, I still can see, hear, use all my limbs and I don’t have a chronic illness.
.
But what about the times when you simply cannot change your thoughts, when you can’t snap out of anxiety or panic? My family coined a phrase for crazy thinking that leads to stress. Repeat this phrase and once again laughter will put a stop to your running brain, guaranteed.
No more Mental
Kung-Fu
Really, humans are so illogical, we are comical. Laughter cuts through our anxiety because we realize how absurd we are. Listen to the Words of Jesus:
Might as well give up. I was not designed to control everything and everyone. So I might as well give up control and give God His job back. When I accept that I am simply a child of God, nothing more, nothing less, then I can relax.
.
Laughter really is the best medicine

Brilliant read!! I think you and I are on the same tree, same branch in terms of living and not allowing life to control us. This is what I read here yeah..lol x
I felt every work you typed here. I can relate in a huge way. We have two sons 23 and 21 years old, my partner and I were VERY, VERY Young parents. And we also have two girls aged 6 and 5 today 😀
My 21 year old son moved out about 6 months ago and it hurt. I know I am being stupid and almost insulting to people who have the unthinkable happen to their kids. I have friends who lost their Daughter aged 8 and it was amazing to see this wee girl fight and smile. Then World shattering being there when she passed. Memories of this little girl who was the age almost of my two daughters today. It makes me sad but also I know God is looking after her, and she was an amazing wee girl.
Sorry if people don’t get me when I say “Wee”. Wee in my World here in Scotland means ‘Small.
I have had people all over the World confused with the word ‘Wee. 😀 It’s a word we all use 100 times a day here.
I am glad you are ok. I know we don’t speak as much as we used to bit life often takes us places for a time. I think in life it’s important to know the ‘Circle of life and it’s natural meanings. We often go full circle while making 1 point.
But I am Scottish 😀 So where a few words, perhaps 5 words, would do the job! I use 1,000 😀 But it’s all good fun this life lark… lol

We are definitely on the same branch of the same tree.
Love your words, your heart, your courage in the face of physical difficulties and your inquiring brain. You are a marvel to have parented from such a young age. Letting go of control, especially of our adult kids, is one of the hardest things we must do. BUT they do not get their adult brain till 25..the frontal lobe which makes rational decisions… SO, the trick is to guide them subtly.
Of course, I know what wee means..I am Canadian not an American ! Many Scottish and Irish sayings float around here all the time…just yesterday I heard, ‘when I was just a wee girl….I álways say, ‘I ‘ll have just a wee piece’ When my husband is late, Oh here is His Lordship or Himself has finally come in for dinner.

Thank you Melanie. I am like everyone, evolving through Gods love and life hits. I love your expressive ways, I just like people who express. A man or woman can sit and write their expression into a song then share it with the world, is there a difference? A question this evoked in me. lol.. And thanks for the advise, trust me, I need it 😀 xx
