More Fun and Games with Awards

I have once again taken great liberties with these awards- not out of disrespect but because mu poor brain cannot handle trying to figure out who should receive which award. The list is at the bottom of this post and i will add to it over the next couple of days

The Versatile Blogger Award

versatileblogger111

I received the Versatile Blogger Award from an interesting writer at Kats Den

The link to the rules of acceptance are here.

According to the rules, I’m supposed to tell you 7 things about myself:

1. I HATE scary movies. As soon as the music rises ominously, I start pacing. Once in a movie theatre, at The Lord of the Rings, I jumped and managed to throw quarts of popcorn in a 4′ radius all around us. It landed in people’s hair, on their coats… everywhere. My husband has never let me hold the popcorn again

2. I am eccentric, living on the margins of society and I love quirky, intellectual nerds with a sense of humour. I often laugh in the face of tragedy. It works for me.Only my parents really get my humour.

3. God has managed to heal and love me in spite of myself and I could weep in gratitude for His patient mercy.

4. If it was not for my daughters buying me clothes, cutting and dying my hair and teaching me about make-up, I would look very frumpy.

5. I am an inefficient square, trying to force myself to roll through chores like a circle. I just recently have begun to take delight in my inefficiency.

6. I love my husband and my kids. I love play dough, looking for bugs, colouring, reading kids books and making doll houses. I really need lots of grandkids.

7. I am the definitive bookworm. I read at least 5 books a week till I was 15, stopping only if I had too much homework to keep it up. My mother used to beg me on nice summer days to , “At least read outside!” Sometimes, to limit my late night reading, I have read perched on the edge of a cold tub, only to realize 2 hours later that I am frozen and can hardly walk.

Leaping for the Liebster Award!

from    at  Mercy Me! I’ve got work to do.

liebster

I just posted 7 things about me with the Versatile blogger, so here is 4 more

1. I love STRONG tea, butter tarts and red wine and cilantro. I love old houses and restoring their beauty, gardening, big windows and old pine floors.

 2. Someone told my mother that I was cute but my sister would be beautiful! I am short, 5’1″ and 104lb. I was a cute little kid (the grade six girls wanted to cart me around like a doll ),  a cute new mother, at 57, my kids’ friends think I am cute and they are 16/17 and I will be a cute, little old lady. Doomed to be forever cute.

3. I have a sadistic streak. The times I have laughed the hardest concern my husband and bathtubs. Once Michael was stuck in a too small bathtub, trying to rinse his hair with a princess shower head without getting any water on the floor. The second hilarious incident was when he was stuck in a cold bath, with his leg sticking straight out in a cask, while I attempted to haul him up! Both times I laughed so hard that I ended up on the floor. My husband did not even smile

4. I need to start drawing and painting again.

Questions  from to answer if I wish to:

1. How do you think the world would be different if everyone practiced corporal and spiritual works of mercy- ie. feed the hungry, comfort the sick, forgive offenses etc. ?

2. When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?  Either a missionary or a ballerina!

3. What is your favorite biblical scripture? The joy of the Lord is your strength. Neh.8:10

4. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go? Ireland

5.  What are the top three attributes that you think a Christian should have? love, joy, peace that passes all understanding

6.  Why do you blog? It is part of my call, witness and vocation to witness to the truth about marriage, motherhood and the sacredness of life.

7. How do you stand as a witness for God? By living, moving, breathing in through and with Him. He does the rest

8. What is the nicest things that someone has done for you? my parents gave us a down-payment for our first house just 3 years ago

9. What was your favorite television show growing up and what is it now? Walt Disney. I don’t watch T.V.

10. If you could be king/queen for the day what is one thing you would require everyone to do?  pray

11. What do you love most about God? His grace and mercy

WORDPRESS FAMILY AWARD

Image

A message from Shaun, the creator of this award:

This is an award for everyone who is part of the “WordPress Family” I started this award on the basis that the WordPress family has taken me in, and showed me love and a caring side only WordPress can. The way people take a second to be nice, to answer a question and not make things a competition amazes me here. I know I have been given many awards, but I wanted to leave my own legacy on here by creating my own award, as many have done before. This represents “Family” we never meet, but are there for us as family. It is my honour to start this award. Thank you, Shaun @ http://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com/

Rules:

1. Display the award logo on your blog.

2. Link back to the person who nominated you.

3. Nominate 10 others you see as having an impact on your WordPress experience and family.

4. Let your 10 Family members know you have awarded them.

5. That is it. Just please pick 10 people that have taken you as a friend, and spread the love.

I nominate these ones because they have truly made me feel welcomed and part of the blogging family here. I may not know them face to face but through their blogs and comments, they have allowed me into their friendship circles.

Given to me by . I was  pleased that he included my blog among his Best Moment Award recipients. I think it is wonderful  that often the awards we receive are given by people who seem different from us but when we look below the surface we are the same.
The noble who write and capture the best in life
The bold who reminded us what really mattered
Savoring the experience of quality time
The rules:
Create an acceptance speech either by video or a written speech post
Pass the award onto 15 other bloggers.

This is a fraction of my beloved fellow bloggers. Please feel free to pick out the award which resonates with YOU

      1. To be truthful, I didn’t read who you nominated part, as I was more interested in reading about your answers to the questions. Now I’m blushing. Thank you so much for thinking of me. I’ll revisit page. Hugs

  2. Wow… I’m a really terrible baker… apparently my dozen is 10 instead of the 13 it was supposed to be! I’ll have to correct that next time around. Congratulations on all your well deserved awards. 😀 What scared you into a popcorn throwing mess in Lord of the Rings? (That is not a movie a would have considered scary – okay, well, the spider… I just don’t like big spiders very much.)
